Pssssst… Prepaid TMobile Users, You Get Full Free Internet With the iPhone
I keep a prepaid T-Mobile SIM laying around for those “just because” moments. For anyone who has tried using T-Zones on a prepaid cellphone (especially on an iPhone) you are always sadly disappointed with the results. No connectivity.
However, due to a recent change on T-Mobile’s network you no longer are stranded without internet in prepaid land. First you will need an unlocked iPhone 2G. Just use the Pwnage tool to unlock it. You don’t need to install Cydia, Installer or any other hacks - just unlock the baseband.
Once the phone is unlocked navigate to the Settings icon, select General then select Network and finally Cellular Data Network.
In the APN settings enter epc.tmobile.com and restart your phone. Once you restart your phone just open up the Safari web browser (or any other internet enabled application) and viola - instant connectivity!
Now mind you on the prepaid plans T-Zones is free so get while the getting is good!
